Mine after all the stop/go traffic, mine returns an average of 17km/L after 7k mileage.

Only thing is the deceleration drone(reversible alternator charging up the capacitors) that eventually goes away once charged up.

That noise goes away after driving for awhile, normally i notice once itd warmed up ard 90deg, the drone fades off.

Indeed. 1000+/topup is easily achievable.

If you drive past Toh Guan, go check out Cnergy (CNG station) they sell EURO5 Diesel @ $0.70/L before the discounts. Some guys here are using and i see many TDIs frequenting that place as well. Been using it and am happy with it, esp when its under $40 for a tank of 1000km.

Hi All, just collected my new 508  Diesel on last Saturday. Trying to get use of the noise & electronics brake. Question i have is, do i need to warm up to certain temperature before i drive?
Thank you.

Hi there,

No hard and fast rule, but it's generally recommended to have it idle for 20s-30s as a warm up. Then as you drive off, don't apply heavy acceleration till it gets to temperature.

Hi guys, am looking at the 508 diesel model too but have a couple of questions. What's the common failure for this model and what other workshops service Peugeot cars at reasonable pricing? Thanks.

Hi all, been reading up about 508 past few weeks and was surprised this car is a rather new model that began in 2010, replacing 407 & 607.

Being new, it seems most complaints since was electrical faults ie Sat Nav, auto handbrake, keyless entry, and the dreaded gearbox issue which hopefully Asin gearbox solves it.

Can't forget being impressed by the test drive last week, comfortable, nice handling etc. Seriously thinking of getting the BlueHDi but put back by the electrical issues.

Hope the facelift model eradicate most of it as this is Pug's flagship. Any comments on your rides bro?

Hi AK, I've test drive this diesel model and the drive and feel is good. I'm just trying to find out more about the maintenance and reliability of Peugeot as this will be my first European car. So far they provide 5 years warranty and servicing. With that, will it be worth a gamble? I'm just not sure.

If u ask me, just get it if you love the ride. I've been a long-time VW rider and it has its fair share of problems with the DSG, although situation has improved. Coming over to the lion's den, it seems similar too. Conti cars do have their quirks especially after 3 years I believe. It's the quality ride, feel good factor that I'm after and 508 gives me that, with a good FC & diesel low running cost to boot. Very tempting really. Just mentally preparing for possible electronic issues that may come along. So I'm gonna follow my heart Smile

Bro Ellibob, hop over to this link - [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] for more feedback and action Smile

Hi,

If you're looking for more information about maintenance/reliability, I'm afraid that in general, the Pug 508's are quite limited. If you want to find more, the UK Peugeot site offers a more informative forum.

If not in general, look for the 1.6 e-HDI engines and you get a feel of the oily bits, or any 508 of the recent past for the electrics as its similar.

My ownership period is too short to do a comment, except it sorta matches my expectations of how it should be.
